Australian Wildflowers

My Australian flower paintings and patterns are created using gouache and watercolour, two mediums I love for their versatility and expressive qualities.

I often start by painting each element by hand, layering colour to capture the vibrancy and texture of native plants. Once dry, I scan my artworks into the computer to refine them digitally, adjusting colour, composition and scale before transforming them into repeat patterns.

For a long time, I really struggled with painting flowers. They never quite looked how I imagined, but I kept at it because I was captivated by their beauty and detail. Over time, that challenge turned into a deep love for the process. Even now, I’m always learning, experimenting and finding new ways to capture the uniqueness of Australian flora through paint and pattern.
